Gardening with children is a joy! Get out there and just do it. I have nearly 30 years experience working with children in gardens. We have grown all kinds of food, herbs, native plants, succulents, butterfly host and nectar plants, and more. I have had my share of failed crops, some that the gophers and other pests totally consumed before we got even a bite. I have tried to grow all kinds of different things, experimenting continually. I have learned a lot from my successes and failures. Now, I am focused on building the soil. The concept of "living soil" is so important to be aware of and learn more about. There is a lot that goes on under the ground that we do not see that makes all the difference in the world.
